HISTORY
Established in 1970, the main mission of the school is the advancement of knowledge to understand and facilitate desirable social transformation, as well as to study and address the rapid and profound social changes in contemporary society. We achieve this mission through an extensive programme of research, publication, teaching and intellectual collaboration.

CALL FOR PAPERS
The Social Sciences Postgraduate International Seminar (SSPIS) 2014 is an event where postgraduate students in the field of social sciences can come together and present their work in a friendly yet stimulating environment.

This is an annual event organized by the School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. Originally, the event was organized at a national level and known as SSPNS (Social Sciences Postgraduate National Seminar) 2009- 2013.

For this year, we are proud to announce that the event is going international where participants are expected to come from universities, not only within Malaysia but also from other countries.

We warmly welcome all postgraduate students within the field to come and present their work at this international seminar.
